Reunion of Ex-Paras, Cyprus 1974

Greetings ex Paras,

For many years now, when Pierre Dumont aka “Bonhomme Dumont” visits Canada, I’ve hosted a reunion for former members of 1er Commando in my home. Pierre Dumont now resides in Germany and he comes to Canada approximately every 2 years.

This year, Joe Drouin and I have joined forces to plan a reunion on a larger scale to mark the 33rd anniversary of the invasion of Cyprus in 1974.

This invitation to former members of 1er Commando also extends to support groups such as medical and supply units etc.

I’ve chosen the Montreal area to host this event as it is a more central location.

The purpose of this letter is to get an idea of how many people would be interested in attending. The reunion will likely be held in the reserved section of a restaurant where we may chat and renew ties with our former comrades in arms.

In the past, these reunions have been very successful and those attending were delighted with their evening.

This gathering will be informal, no protocol, simply a chance to renew acquaintances and share memories. If you so wish, you may bring photos.
